If there’s one thing Scissors Paper Pen loves, it’s hearing a good story, told well. And if there’s someone who knows how to tell a good story, it’s Rosanna Stevens. Rosanna is a nonfictionalist and humourist who has read essays at the EWF’s Amazing Babes, SpringOUT, Feminartsy, Noted Festival, and storytelling nights in Chicago. She’s performed sketch at The Second City Chicago, and The PIT in NYC, and her comedy has been selected for shows at UCB in Los Angeles, and the Mary Scruggs Works by Women Festival in Chicago.
In this free, two-hour workshop, Rosanna will share her tips and insights into writing work to be read aloud, as well as ideas to help you when you decide stand up on stage and share that work with an audience.
Participants in this workshop will also be invited to read their work at an event hosted by Scissors Paper Pen at Smiths on 13 March, so you will be given a chance to put your hard work into practice in front of a friendly audience.
Venue: Civic Public Library
Time/date: 1pm-3pm, Saturday 3 March
While the event is free, places are limited so please register for this workshop by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Workshop” by COB February 28. Places are limited to 15 people, so let us know you if you’re keen soon! We will also operate a wait list for the event.
This event is supported by artsACT.
